Exterior

The 2006 Impreza saw significant improvements to the car’s aerodynamics. The restyled front end allows the air to flow more smoothly over the front of car which has allowed Subaru to reduce the size of the intercooler scoop and in turn help the aerodynamics.

The Type−25 features a STI front lipspoiler and rubber extension that forces the air up and over the cars front drastically reducing lift. STI claimed a reduction in front lift of over 36%. We subsequently had the lip spoiler tested at research facility MIRA during race car development and found exactly the same results. This large reduction in lift means the car feels more composed, especially at high speed.

The different versions of the Type−25 also have two distinct aero packages. The Spec C features a rear roof spoiler and tall boot spoiler. The proven boot spoiler helps improve high speed stability by reducing rear lift. Testing has shown that the rear roof spoiler channels air at lower speeds towards the boot spoiler.

The normal A−line edition of the Type−25 has the small boot lip spoiler. This, along with the deletion of the roof spoiler, is designed to reduce high speed drag and noise. This leads to a slight improvement in high speed economy and adds to the subtle style. Having no large spoilers allows the normal Type−25 to pass relatively unnoticed by other road users.

The standard A−line Type−25 also features front fog lights to supplement its xenon headlights while the Spec C version features the homologated roof vent. The Type−25 comes with Subaru’s lightweight STI 17" Alloy. This is in silver on the standard Type−25 and gold in the Spec C models. We are able to offer this wheel in a number of optional colours to suit the owners taste.

We are also able to offer 18" wheel options which allow the fitment of the larger Type−25 brakes but, also mean a more track focused tyre can be used. We have chosen the wheels for their light weight and quality. We can offer the multi spoke STI 18" Alloy and the ’Flowformed’ Speedline Turini 18" (as fitted to our race car) amongst our wheel options. Both of these wheels are exceptionally strong but their low weight helps to reduce un−sprung mass to aid handling and response. When coupled with our range of road legal motorsport tyres they offer truly remarkable grip levels.

Each Type−25 comes with its own unique number and badges. There is a subtle rear boot badge with the Type−25 logo. In the engine bay there is a laser etched metal plaque with the cars build number. There is also an elegant interior badge displaying the cars’ individual build number on the centre console.

See our option list for prices of the optional extras.
